  • C&L Ward Service department for installed windows

It is unbelievable to me that I can not obtain a simple replacement lock for the windows I had installed in 2006. After several phone calls the service department does not pick up their phone and you are required to leave a message. No one gets back with you. I have tried to order a replacement lock for these windows on line, and can not find "Renewal" parts. If C&L Ward had explained to me that I was not getting premium Anderson windows, I would never have bought these windows. I have made so many attempts at obtaining this $5 part, I can not beleive this is the way a... More...

  • over priced

The windows are sold through franchisees and installed by subcontractors. The real price of the window depending on size is around $275 they are installed for about $100 and sold to home owners for around $1500, especially in the Austin Dallas and Fort Worth Texas marketplace. The Franchiser sets the price and the company in this area has the highest price in the entire network but hey the owner has some really nice cars. More...

  • The Cons and the Pros

This review has been resolved or replied to by this company. The cons first: There are 300 reviews on their web site most favorable but you cannot post a customer review. The installer warned us that unlike the show room the windows would be difficult to tilt in. That was an understatement. Hercules could not push the slider wedges down to wedge the window open. It is almost impossible to pull the top window open on the wider windows. I blame the hardware design. The plastic wedges are flimsy and tiny. I finally used the but end of a hammer to push the wedges in. No I am not an idiot. I am a female EE. There service department does not answer... More...

  • Window replacements

Today was the completion of our twenty-one (21) window and patio door replacement by "Renewal by Andersen". Last week the window replacement was professionally completed in two days and we have already noticed improvement in our air conditioning efficiency and muted noise level from the busy street behind our home. Our patio door was a special order due to its large size and our request for tinted door window due to continuous sunlight. As soon as the door was installed it was obvious that the room was cooler and void of all outside noise. Not only are the windows already a... More...

  • Renewal by Andersen Window Replacement

I had a great experience with Renewal by Andersen. They are a very high quality company and I am very pleased with the product and the service I received. After buying our home 3 years ago, we noticed that most of the windows had a lot of rot and bugs and drafts were getting into our home. We decided to go for a very high quality product because we just wanted to do this once and do it right. We did spend a lot of money but we know we are getting a great product that will not fail and need to be replaced in a few years. I am looking forward to working with renewal by andersen again once we... More...

  • BAD EXPERIENCE WITH ANDERSEN RENEWAL

I have been dealing with Andersen renewal since 9/12. They have had my deposit of over $8000.00 since September. I was misinformed about grilles (I wanted between the glass was told to go look at them, did, and hated the look. Turns out they sent me to look at different grille). NO one got my order correct once in 6 months. I finally was dealing with "supervisor" and he could not answer my questions accurately. Could not explain cost changes. I was supposed to get 20% off as advertised. BUT 20% off what? As other window companies state...they have no price list so it is not... More...

  • Buyer Beware

Renewal By Andersen will tell you you're buying a real wood window and charge you an arm and a leg for your replacements when what you are getting is composite wood and plastic from the real Andersen Window factory. They sweep leftovers up off the floor, grind them down, mix in some glue and call them wood after they put a thin wood sticker on the inside of the window. You'll never be able to sand and stain them. There is also a huge problem with air leakage. If you have a service issue, good luck in getting anyone to come out and fix the problem--and when they do come out, good... More...

  • Unhappy Customer

From an Unhappy Customer Recently ordered 13 windows from Renewal by Anderson and I’m very pleased with the quality of the product. I’m sure the windows will live up to their projected life and effectiveness. BUT, the representations of the salesperson and the quality of the customer service don’t come close to the quality of the windows. From the “Oh my customers have been getting their windows installed in around 4 weeks” to “our install crews put down tarps on everything, then vacuum the floors and wash all the windows before leaving”... I have had the Renewal by Anderson salesman in my home and am leaning toward full acceptance. I have contacted sales rep and he has agreed to provide me with references. I am still confused why Anderson sent out the renewal group instead of the regular guy conidering that the price gap is so large i would imagine they are try to squeeze every lincoln i have till he screams! Any advise not from sales reps but actual customers would be appreciated.

I agree with johnny window. I have sold many different windows. I currently work for Renewal by Andersen. The point is not to argue that we are the "best" of everything. The point is simply that when compared to windows across the board, Renewal by Andersen windows offer more of whats important to most people! Not the cheapest, strongest, most efficient or best of anything other than "Best" overall value. Pick them apart all you want but when grading overall value, nothing in the market today compares! Period!

I had a terrible experience. The contract was signed October 19, 2010. Windows were installed March 12, 2011. They used pine trim when my contract specifically called for oak. They used some type of composite trim for aesthetic purposes and it isn't installed "square". The stain on the trim has runs on it. They tore up my drywall when they installed and the man who "fixed" it did a terrible job. I have made numerous calls to the home office in Kansas as well as customer service. I also called on March 31, the Omaha Renewal office. Today I finally got a call back from Chris, the new manager of the Omaha office. He had the nerve to ask me if I called anyone and complained! I told him I had called his office assistant, Kathy, on March 31 and she told me Chris would get back to me. I didn't know it would take a month. I have since found out that the estimator was fired, the previous manager was fired and the crew that did my install were also fired. I wouldn't recommend them. You may get "interest free", but you're paying more than you should for a window. Unfortunately I found this out after the fact!

to "windowman"
I love the fact that when someone posts a good response with actual facts it is a commercial but when someone posts complete nonsense it is ok. The Andersen Renewal window is not vinyl or vinyl clad. That is a completely uneducated comment from someone who is probably a contractor. Do some research before you post such a non-educated statement. Basically nothing you said is even correct other than the "renewal" window is sold through not "thru" either company owned (Andersen owned")or yes there are still a few franchises as well.

SADRBACUSTOMER is not a customer at all but a Pella salesman.

Our home has all renewal windows. They are super! However they should be for the cost.

REcommend if you can afford them..

My experience with RBA had been absolutely a nightmare! The windows are hideous, they leak air, and I was charged much more than a normal window. I am trying to resolve the problems but they are unwilling to tell me why they overcharged me, why they did not install what they promised, or why the windows are not energy efficient. I wish someone had told me about this company 6 mos ago.

The Woodwright is the official replacement window for Andersen. It can be bought at any retail outlet that sells Andersen. RBA is a seperate company that is owned by Andersen. They sell thru franchises that have protected territories. The Woodwright is a wood frame window that has Fibrex (vinyl) claded to the outside for weather protection. The RBA is a total vinyl (Fibrex) window. Because it is made of wood, The Woodwright is stronger and more attractive. Because the RBA is sold thru franchises that have no competition, The Woodwright is approx. one half the cost. There is no debate, buy the Woodwright and tell RBA to go away.

I have sold vitually every major brand window on the east coast ( Andersen, Marvin, Pella, Kolbe, Weathershield, Peachtree and a ton of crappy vinyls ) . Look at the complaint boards for all of them. Renewal by Andersen is the next evolution in windows when you think about it. Composite windows will be the only thing available in the near future....even decking is going the way of composite. resources are going bye bye...they need to evolve. Vinyl as base is lousy - it moves in heat and cold, it yellows with time...with movement comes seal failures. Clad wood windows capture water behind the cladding causing dryrot. I can find so many faults with most windows...alot of what Renewal says is truth....even with the few faults of the product it is still the best choice out there today

We loved them! We have done two phases of windows and can't wait to finish our house with a third phase. Our rep walked us through everything, told us what to expect. The install crews were very professional and cleaned up after themselves. We love them!
